Attorney General Pam Bondi says the Justice Department will “target” hate speech. But in the U.S., hate speech isn’t a legal category. From Trump’s rhetoric to Charlie Kirk’s provocations, both sides want free speech when it suits them and restrictions when it doesn’t. In this Mike Drop, Mike Smithgall breaks down the law, the hypocrisy, and why free speech must apply universally, even when it’s ugly.

I am a Republican Atheist and I do agree Bondi blundered. There is no such thing as ‘Hate speech.’ Religion has jump into the conservative party. You have the freedom of religion to believe or not believe.
I grew up a republican and I still agree with the republican ideals I started with. To me the republicans moved out from under me. I have moved left over time as well but I’m still not totally opposed to some of those original ideas. But they have aligned themselves so tightly with the evangelicals that I just can’t support them.
